THE ALL-NATURAL CHRISTMAS
Our All-Natural Christmas Gift Guide is about treading lightly on the earth, with fairness to makers, and in celebration of craftsmanship.
At southwood we lovingly hand pick each brand we include as part of our collection. We only work with companies who are as committed to natural materials and ethical manufacturing as we are.
We’ve put together a thoughtful selection of gifts on our online store. Keep on reading for our top picks.
When craftsmanship spans generations you get only the best in quality and style that time and family tradition can make.
Two of our favourite family owned businesses are Australia’s own local potters Robert Gordon and Finnish weaving mill Lapuan Kankurit. From weave to glaze, they make the perfectly dining setting.
Perhaps we’re a little sentimental, but there’s something rather special about dressing a table with products made lovingly by families. These are gifts with generations of stories that will only grow richer in our own homes each year.

Christmas should be a time of joy and peace for both the receiver and the maker of your gift.
At southwood we work very closely with our suppliers to understand their processes, quality control and ethics. That’s why we love socially responsible companies like Armadillo & Co and Dharma Door whose products are fair-trade, sustainable and natural. Armadillo & Co not only support their weavers but also the local schools in their weavers’ villages.

A pamper pack is a fool-proof and always welcome gift. But many pamper products are – let’s face it – just pretty packaging filled with nasty ingredients. That’s why we love the Salus range for its simple design, product quality and rich organic scents.
The Salus bodycare range is made locally with 100% natural ingredients which are not only good for you, but smell incredible. 100% free from synthetic fragrance and colour, sodium laurel sulphates, parabens and mineral oils. They are also made here in Melbourne, you can’t get more local than that!
To take the pampering to the next level go for a set of luxury cotton towels by Bemboka along with some Thurlby drawer sachets.

Woolly blankets are an excellent gift for loved ones who live interstate or overseas! Not only are they light, making them an economical gift to ship, they are also durable and timeless pieces to comfort and remind them you’re only a phone call away.
Felt is also another light weight option. We love the versatile HeySign natural wool felt pots which are perfect for organising utensils, small toys and styling indoor plants. They also look great under the tree as gift baskets.
